Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), and the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) have joined forces to introduce the “One India – One Ticket<\/strong>” initiative. This collaborative effort is set to enhance the travel experience for Main Line Railway and Metro passengers in the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new facility allows passengers to book Delhi Metro Rail QR Code-based tickets directly on the IRCTC website and mobile app. According to a recent press release, the full version of this service is expected to launch soon, promising a significant improvement in travel convenience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advance Booking for Hassle-Free Planning<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Metro tickets can now be booked up to 120 days in advance, aligned with Indian Railways’ Advance Reservation Period (ARP). These tickets are valid for four days, making travel planning more flexible and stress-free for passengers. One QR code per passenger will be included in the Electronic Reservation Slip provided by IRCTC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collaboration between IRCTC, DMRC, and CRIS marks a pioneering step in creating a seamless travel experience for railway and metro passengers in Delhi NCR. The “Beta Version” of the Delhi Metro Rail QR Code-based ticket was launched recently, enabling mainline railway passengers to book DMRC QR Code Tickets through the IRCTC website and Android mobile app.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the occasion of the beta launch, Sanjay Kumar Jain, CMD of IRCTC, and Vikas Kumar, MD of DMRC, expressed their optimism about the initiative. They stated, “Upon the success of the Beta Version, the regular version of IRCTC-DMRC QR Code Ticket will be launched soon.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Extended Ticket Validity and Booking Window<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Previously, single-journey tickets for the Delhi Metro could only be booked on the day of travel and were valid for the same day. With the new initiative, DMRC-IRCTC QR code-based tickets can be booked up to 120 days in advance and will be valid for four days, covering the day before the journey, the travel date itself, and two days after.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enhanced Passenger Experience<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This initiative enhances the travel experience by allowing railway passengers to book Delhi Metro tickets directly from the rail ticket confirmation page. The tickets can be linked to either the source or destination station within the Delhi\/NCR region and can also be booked later via the booking history page. Flexible cancellations further improve convenience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once purchased, one DMRC QR code per passenger will be included in the IRCTC Electronic Reservation Slip. This streamlined process will save valuable time for passengers at DMRC stations by eliminating the need to stand in long queues to purchase metro tickets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
