The expansion plan will cover the Vishwanathapuram area and other densely populated regions with efficient metro connectivity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The metro is currently covering about 70 kilometers, and the new expansion will take it up to 278 kilometers, connecting areas from <strong><em>Rayadurgam to Shamsabad Airport.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"3_New_Metro_Lines\"><\/span>3. <strong>New Metro Lines <\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hyderabad_Metro\">Hyderabad metro extension<\/a> <\/em><\/strong>will include various metro lines, double-decker metro rail systems, and elevated corridors. It will connect areas from <strong><em>Miyapur to Lakdikapul, <\/em><\/strong><em><strong>Vijayawada to Hayatnagar, Uppal to Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district,<\/strong><\/em> and extend the metro to <strong><em>Kothur-Shadnagar.<\/em><\/strong> Additionally, the plan includes a new metro corridor from<strong><em> ECIL to LB Nagar, <\/em><\/strong>spanning 5.5 kilometers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Phases_of_the_Metro_Expansion\"><\/span>4. <strong>Phases of the Metro Expansion<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The second phase will extend the metro by 31 kilometers from <em><strong>Rayadurgam to Shamsabad Airport<\/strong><\/em>.
