1. Introduction

Delhi has a neighborhood called Ashok Nagar. It is a portion of both the West Delhi parliamentary constituency and the Tilak Nagar assembly constituency. Before it was called as such, the region was known as Tihar Village 2. Today, it is a recognized neighborhood, and Delhi’s government contributes to its advancement.

2. History and demographics

Migrants from Jhungh (Chinyotte), Sargodha, Bahawalpur, West Punjab, Sindh, and Northwest Frontier Province make up Ashok Nagar, a refugee community. Nonetheless, this region is also home to residents from other Indian states, including West Bengal, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand.

3. Sub-colonies at Ashok Nagar

The Main Blocks, the MCD Colony, Double Stories, and the Uggarsen Market Area comprise the four sections of the township. With thoughtful planning, the colony was divided into seventy blocks, each with sixteen dwellings encircled by lanes on four sides. It was nicknamed Prem Nagar since the 71st block was located across Jail Road. There are five public gardens in this area: Tikona Park, 41 Block Park, More Wala Park, and Ajanta Park. The suburb is bordered to the south by Jheelwala Park and Dhan Pathwar and to the northeast by Tagore Park, two bigger parks. The boat trips offered by the DDA at Jheelwala Park were well-known.
