About Jaipur Metro
- Jaipur Metro is a cutting-edge rapid transport system that serves the Pink City of Jaipur, Rajasthan. It was designed in two phases, the first of which is already operating and being extended.
- On June 3, 2015, the Jaipur Metro was inaugurated. The first section is 9.76 km long and mainly elevated, stretching from Mansarovar to Chandpole. This phase’s construction began in November 2010 and was finished in 2014.
- The Jaipur Metro includes 11 stations, 8 of which are elevated and 3 of which are underground. The 12.067-kilometer-long line is broken into two phases: Phase I-A and Phase I-B. On September 23, 2020, Phase 1-B, from Chandpole to Badi Chaupar, went into service.
- The Jaipur Metro is powered by 25 kV AC by an overhead catenary and runs on 1435 mm (standard gauge) rails.

- Vasundhara Raje, then Chief Minister of Rajasthan, inaugurated the Jaipur Metro on June 3, 2015, making it India’s sixth rapid transit system.
- Â Jaipur Metro is one of India’s smallest metro systems, with a 12-kilometer route length.
- Â It employs 1,435 mm (standard gauge) rails and 25 kV AC via overhead catenary, as do many metros in India.
- Â The trains, which have four carriages, have a maximal speed of 80 km/h and a headway of 10 minutes during peak hours and 15 minutes during non-peak hours.
