The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has begun work on the Faridabad-Jewar Expressway, a greenfield expressway project connecting Faridabad (NCR) in Haryana to the upcoming Jewar International Airport in Uttar Pradesh. Scheduled for completion by June 20, 2025, the expressway is part of the government’s ambitious Bharatmala Pariyojana. This six-lane highway, expandable to eight lanes, will link Sector-65 in Ballabgarh to Dayanatpur near Jewar, reducing the distance between Faridabad and Jewar Airport from 90 km to 31 km. Construction began on June 22, 2023.

Route of the Faridabad Jewar Expressway
The expressway will start from the Link Road junction on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Sector-65 in Faridabad, providing a direct link to Jewar Airport. Approximately 22 km of the highway will be in Haryana and the remaining 9 km in Uttar Pradesh. The project also includes a 10-km-long service road on either side of the highway.

Interchange Development
According to the NHAI, an interchange is under construction at Mohana village, which will connect the KGP expressway to the Jewar route. The Maujpur Chhainsa-Mohana Road already has an entry-exit point for the KGP Expressway, around 6.5 km from Mohana village. The Mohana-Baghpur-Falaida Road, running close to the Uttar Pradesh-Haryana border, is also being renovated to include entry and exit ramps, ensuring convenience for people from both states.
Project Cost
The Faridabad Jewar Expressway project is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 2,414.67 Cr. Once operational, it will significantly reduce the travel distance between Faridabad and Jewar Airport.
